Home Buy, Sell, & Trade - U.S. Coins

We opened the safe deposit box yesterday, AND

found several coins. They were bought by my wife's mother (now deceased) about 10 years ago. We would like to sell a few of them and in researching their value, I found this site and the PCGS price guide. Being a newby here and a novice to coin collecting....I thought this might be the best venue to get them in front of the folks who might be interested in acquiring some or all of them.
I will be offering four 2 1/2 dollar pieces, and four silver dollars and one Kennedy half dollar.
If you will bear with me , I'll try to describe them as best I can. I have a couple of scans, but will try to get some pics to those who wish a better image.

#1- 1893 $2 1/2 Liberty head ms64 (pcgs) item # 7845.64/4775091

You might want to spend a little time at the coin forum before proceeding further on the BST board. Just a friendly suggestion.
  • Hi Bbe, thanks, any suggestions are greatly appreciated. I have been reading and learning quite a bit, and was very pleased to find the forum, hope I'm not being to brash by introducing myself with something for sale. davep

    Davep, check your PM

  • Hi and welcome. I'm not aware who the company is that graded the $2.50's. Are you sure of the letters you used. If it was PCGS they are worth a lot of money as PCGS is the number 1 coin grading firm. If they say it'e a MS64 it's a nice clean example of that type of coin for the year, etc....
As to Littleton....they tend to be high on thier selling prices. For some coins I've seen a much as double what they would sell for elsewhere.

Good luck to you in selling your coins, be careful with those gold ones they could be very valuable to you ....

The cert numbers as given would tend to support the coins as being in PCGS and NGC slabs.
