Rich DeLucia stopped by tonight

Rich pitched in the majors from 1990-99. I coached him when he was twelve by yelling "Way to go, Rich!" and "Mrs. Delucia, can Rich pitch another inning?"

Anyway, that was some 30 years ago and I ran across him at the bowling alley last week, got his address and sent his kid some baseball cards. They showed up on my doorstep tonight, gave me a very nice thank you note in which his son states "You taught my dad everything he knows." and a couple of autographed baseball (one from each). It was very nice. image

I remember him. He was one of the infamous 1992 Fleer Rookie Sensations. Very cool.

  • I watched him pitch and got his autograph many times! I lived near San Bernardino in 1988 and he was on the same team, same year and in the same card set as Ken Griffey Jr. Oh, I wish I still had those cards.......

For some reason, I can vividly recall his 1990 Best Glossy card. Glad to see he was raised right.
