Ever Purchase a Foreign Coin even though you have no idea what it is?

I understand it's not a sophisticated way of buying coins, but I landed on this TELETRADE lot and placed a nominal bid and won.
I just thought it looked cool although I couldn't tell you the first thing about what it is. Even though it has issues/problems, I also thought it has neat eye appeal.
Can anyone school me as to what it is?
Thanks!

Buying "mystery coins" is half the fun of Darkside collecting! That Dutch jeton from 1577 I showed a while back was a mystery purchase just because I thought it looked cool. There are a zillion different designs and themes out there; as long as you're not breaking the bank, why not have some fun sleuthing?
