OT-question on Paypal e-check

Found a hunting dog online, contacted the guy over the phone, only has two males available and said he has had so many calls that he decided to sell to the first one to get him the money. I can use my neighbor's Paypal but she sends payment with e-check instead of credit card, my question is, is the seller notified of the e-check payment immediately even though it takes 3-4 days to clear? Can anybody that has accepted an e-check verify this? Thanks and if anybody is wondering the dog is a Weimaraner/Vizsla cross.

Correct - you get a notice saying that you have received an e-check payment, and it will take 3-4 days to clear, so do not ship any merchandise until it does.

They will get a notice, but part depends on their Pay Pal settings. They may have to go to Pay Pal to accept the e-check.
