TO THE NAXCOM USERS *UPDATE*

SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM FOR THE LATEST
Does Naxcom have frequent problems with their website? I'm new to selling on there and wanted to get some listed today but everytime I start listing the site shuts down. Also has anyone used the bulk listing tool? If so, how long does it take them to get the listings up?

naxcom for the last year or so is having a problem with their site, I have had similar problems. I do not think that they can keep up with their growth. Every few months they have shut down for a weekend to update and improve their system. I think it is about time they do it again.image

I tried to use their bulk listing software a while back and was having the same problem you are having, so I waited until the middle of the night which sucked, but a lot less frustrating. Weekends are the worse because so many people are on there. if you do not work, you could try it during the week if late nights do not work for you.

  • Yes they have a ton of web problems. Makes me wonder how much my store is "live" in a given day. If they would upgrade their server and hosting they could be a great alternative to eBay

This is so true. What really gets me is "The Pit" is always running smoothly and they are owned by the same company. They could seriously make a killing with Naxcom but I think they are concentrated on "The Pit" more and building that up. Which is probaly a good for them financially. The need to upgrade their staff too, all the times I have called there I have gotten the same guy and he speaks as though it is just him and someone else there. I think they are the only place I know that still has an answering machine. I like them but they need to get with the times.
  • Thanks guys. "It" probably knew that I was planning on listing some today. Oh well, I was able to get some done.
  • I've never had a problem with the NAXCOM site in over two years. Probably because I'm a night owl and do everything late at night. The bulk upload usually takes a couple of days to show up in your listings.

Is it with uploading pix of your cards? I had problems if the file size exceeding their limit. Not a good error message letting you know that you exceeded the size limit.

Other than that, I have had no problems except when I hit $5k in listings it seemed to shut me off. I think they protect against a fraud spammer offering up high stuff. I think I stumbling across this somewhere when reading the terms of use.

  • it is hard to believe they do any business at all. the format stinks, the load times and searches are painfully slow.......basically it sucks.

The search engine did take some time to get used to, but I like their concept. NO listing fees, buy and sell prices, being able to post scans and the predetermined S&H&I costs.

  • I am surprised too that any buyers use the site as it is incredible tough to navigate and search for items you are looking for.
  • Yeah I wish that you could do several things on the site:
    Search categories similar to Ebay.
    Search for a seller.
Seperate listings that have pictures from the ones that don't
A better bulk listing tool besides an Excel spreadsheet.
    Quicker picture uploading.
I thought they have some stiff grading standards. Does anyone else think this or are my standards not up to standard. Or something.
Yeah, if you don't have a certain specific card you are looking for navigating the site would be tough.
I have found out that even though Naxcom recommends shipping in a padded mailer. 5 out of 7 sellers that I have bought from don't. PWE SHEEZ!!!

I use it all the time to complete newer sets and to see if there is any reasonably priced vintage listed. I agree the search engines suck big time. It is hard say just search for baseball from a given year and set. However, I love the function of posting buy prices and having people accept and send cards. I am also not the guy who posts a buy of a 52 Topps Mantle NM for 1000 I think thats Boo. Bottom line I use it to find cards too cheap for people to list on Ebay to help me finish sets. I did buy some Bradshaws and other Steeler HOFs before the football boom last year.
Currently completing the following registry sets: Cardinal HOF's, 1961 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1972 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1980 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, Bill Mazeroski Master & Basic Sets, Roberto Clemente Master & Basic Sets, Willie Stargell Master & Basic Sets and Terry Bradshaw Basic Set
  • I've found Naxcom to be good aiding in finishing sets also at a reasonable price. Thanks for the response's guys.
  • One more question for you Naxcom sellers: Have you had problems with the bulk lister? For example entering 100 cards and then Naxcom only lists 75 of them. Yes, that happened. Now I get to go through and find out which ones they didn't list. I have a feeling that the bulk lister doesn't save much time.

I would call them and find out what the problem is and give them the suggestions you talked about. Worth a try maybe?
  • Long distance number and no toll free available. I'll try email first.

Does anyone think their condition guidelines are tougher than "normal"?:

I have had issues with their bulk lister as well. About the same as your prob, only having 75% or so of the auctions actually make it. I also had an issue where they listed one of my cards with the wrong quantity and the wrong price from the bulklister. I didn't catch it until somebody tried to buy (2) Randy Johnson rookies for $3 each when I had one for sale for $5. Naxcom took care of it without a problem.

  • Great, I guess I need to go over the ones that did get listed and check their prices. Thanks for the input.
