There is a fingers in your grilled cheese.

I started submitting 1980 Topps heavily waaayyy back in the day. When I started, there were only 14 PSA 10's from the whole set and 4 of them were Rickey Henderson's. I remember that Robin Yount card being VERY tough. I kept hitting 8's on them and was having a hell of a time hitting 9's. When I did, they were getting good money. If people really know what they are bidding on, that PSA 10 should do very well compared to other stars in the set, from my experience anyways.

    steve,

you're the 80s king bro! i was going to set a BIN at $275, but figured i would let free enterprise system have its way.

what were psa 10 bretts & ryans going for back then? you made out like a bandit compared to trying to sell these things today i am sure.

Weird you ask about the Brett. The first Brett PSA 10 came from me. I sold it for $800. I got the second Brett PSA 10 a few months later and sold it for $500. There were no PSA 10 Ryan's at the time. Off the top of my head if I remember correctly, I got the first PSA 10 Rose HL ($450), Joe Morgan ($250), Alan Trammell ($250), Dave Concepcion ($150), plus countless other common 10's that were getting about $35-$50 each. I opened 3 vending cases in about a years time. That was a good time back then. I was getting $100-$130 consistently for Ozzie Smith PSA 9's and around $100 for Johnny Bench 9's. Around $100 for Ryan 9's and $60 for Rose 9's. $50 for Reggie Jackson 9's and the list goes on and on. One case, I hit about 12 Henderson 9's. Those were the good old days. I haven't tried submitting 1980 for a couple years now but I'm sure it's not as strong.

my A$$ is totally numb on an unrelated note. i friggin hand collated 3 '84 donruss sets this weekend. they are pure $$$, no fish eyes, no o/c, just really well centered cards.

i guess i will take some photos and throw in a psa 9 mattingly, and psa 10 ryan & sandbergs and try to sell them.

I'm happy to say that I've just joined the numb-a$$ club as well. I just louped 6 raw sets I bought at a show today. Those 84 D sets look good. I encourage somebody that has money left to spend to buy them.

Julen, what are you going to be looking for on those sets of '84 Donruss? Will they have both versions of the DKs and NNO cards? Or, just the STEEL and NNO?

    Arny,

the '84 donruss set in the binder is a REALLY nice raw set. i had over 4,000+ '84 donruss that i went through, CARD BY FRIGGIN CARD, this weekend. i honestly had screen burn from staring at 4 corners of cardboard constantly over a 14-hour period!

I just thought selling a nicely bound set w/ psa 10 ryan, ripken w/ psa 9 mattingly & sandberg would've made the set more attractive and a reasonable investment @ $250 delivered. I didn't include scans of graded cards, which I suppose I should have, but they do exist and I have posted them on "share your scans" topic before.

The second set is not quite as nice as the bound set, but still really well centered set. I was considering including a psa 9 mattingly, ryan & sandberg w/ these set for $175, which i considered a nice deal.

The cards have NO fish eyes, NO o/c, the error cards are no number on back cards & the DK are the easier to find variation (can't remember which, but they are same kind as psa 10 dk murray i believe you bought from me on e-bay).

I will probably try to sell both sets on e-bay if nobody is interested here.
