New record for a Puckett card??!

Whoa. I mentioned an auction for a 1983 Fritsch PSA10 (pop 3) Kirby rookie card in another post. It was at $204 three hours ago. Here's the ending auction results: $1,025.00 !!!.

This has to be the most I've ever seen for a Puckett card! Anyone heard of one higher?? SMR was around $460, so that may have been the previous high.

Unfortunately, the bidders names were blanked out, so I couldn't write to congratualte whoever did win it. If that person is reading this, let me know! Or, "Congratulations!!" if you don't want to reveal yourself!

Ain't that the truth! I knew I wouldn't be in the running for this card since I'm perfectly happy with my self-subbed PSA9, so I didn't even notice the baggy in the scan. Mine doesn't have the "safety" device, thank goodness!

That '92 Fleer promo ended up just minutes after the '83 Fritsch auction above and went up about $20 more after I posted that link the other day...linky link.

I always wished that the photographer for this set knew a little something about lighting and the effect of shade on subjects...oh, well...
