So you can show a Martian one baseball player...

Who would you pick that best embodies the spirit / physicality of the game? For me it's Ted Williams. Ted is not even in my top 3 favorite ballplayers, but for some reason when I think of the game and how it manifests itself...I usually think of Ted. It's like I can't even picture him being anything BUT a baseball player...even when you see him in a suit!
Your picks and why?

<< <i>Oh poor Don...a face only his mother-in-law could love. >>
even in PSA 9 it is tough to love!
Jose Canseco, Barry Bonds, Rafael Palmeiro, Jason Giambi, Sammy Sosa or Mark McGuire!
If we have to show-off the human species baseball players to the martians, show them our biggest!

- This would be Pete Rose hands down if there wasn't the shady side of his story.
So, I'll go with another great ambassador - Tommy Lasorda.
I may have a bias as a long time Dodger collector but the guy knows baseball and has done a great job promoting baseball overseas.
