Listings more annoying than Levi's...

Although he does sell some PSA graded cards, this guy's raw listings always annoy the crap out of me:

He lists his raw cards as "8 or 9" which rarely means "9" and cloggs up my searches.

I have bought a lot from Snake. He is a grader and owns the #2 1972 Football Set behind MOSH. He knows his cards so his raw is rarely higher than a 9.

Great service, even if you think the listing is annoying he gives great service.

At least he's getting better. All his auctions used to spam like bgs 5.5 psa 7 . I finally blocked him from my searches.

  • How do you block someone from your eBay searches?? I've always been wondering if it was possible...

I think you do it like this:

I can echo that. I bought a couple of nice graded 72s from him about a week ago.
  • He might be a good seller, but plaguing my searches with hundreds of "8 OR 9" cards is far more annoying than Levi. At least Levi isn't keyword spamming.
  • How is this guy not more annoying? He has pages of "8 or 9" titles raw cards...and now even more self graded. Please tell me how this card is mint?

Just add the letters PSA to your search criteria and his auctions won't show up. He is not keyword spamming as he is not using PSA/GAI/BGS or any grading company's name to lure you in. He is overgrading which is very common in raw dealers I agree. The use of a number 9 instead of the word Mint to me is also not spamming but just another way of stating mint.

  • First of all, he does use the word "mint". Secondly, if you only search by PSA, you lose out on SGC and GAI graded cards.

If you only want to see graded cards and not mint raw then why not choose that as your search category? If you search for just "mint" in your description you will get everybodies raw cards described as mint. My experience is that the older the card the less of a chance it will be raw mint on ebay. There are tons of dealers advertising raw mint cards on ebay and a majority are overgraded. I can live with this as it has always been this way with raw cards it is when someone puts the old PSA? in the auction title that makes me mad.

  • If you search by "9" you rarely, besides this guy, get raw cards. You might get some cards numbered "9", but mostly, you'll get graded "9" cards. I don't search by "mint".

I get tripped up more in searches by guys who include something like "PSA gradeable?" in the title than any single number.

But I think the record is 27 done 4:00am in the morning by somebody in the Open Forum. 8 is a heck of an achievement though for this forum. Well done!

I think that we should have more important things to worry about then how someone lists his ebay auctions.

    Good for you.
  • Oh, of course sir....like world politics, education, heath care. You're so right. But then again, those topics really wouldn't be appropriate on a SPORTS CARD FORUM like this one, would it? Why don't you go naysay somewhere else and let harmless relevant topics of conversation go on without your negativity. If you don't have anything positive or informative to add, just move on. Thanks for your 3 cents. Next time buy some gum with it.
