<< <i>I have read Mr. Kleeberg's writings in the past and I find him to be a talented numismatist. He did, however, let his emotions drive the linked article. It could have been written differently (more matter-of-fact). Messrs. Kleeberg, Buttrey, Newman and Ford all have at least one thing in common; they are/were extremely knowledgable numismatists. Perhaps there is not a lot of love in the air, but if you could get all of them in the same room......well, just imagine the conversations. I would love to be a fly on the wall at that gathering. >>
Better watch out what you wish for Numisma. I suspect all these guys would be carrying around 10 lb fly swatters.
. "By the middle of the 1950s these three numismatic luminaries Ford, Sheldon, and Breen were among the most admired scholars in the US field. ... Yet each was a criminal. Breen was a child molester. Sheldon was a thief. Ford was a forger."
These people make me sick.
IMO, their evil activities are ugly enough to destroy any credit they might otherwise deserve.

As I mentioned I would try to be objective in my posts concerning John J Ford. And now you have added John J Ford in a melting pot with Sheldon and Breen. So I am trying to air out the matter because you do have some very valid points. But my intent is to fairly look at both sides of the coin.
