2006 Orange Refractors(Baseball vs. Football)

Have been picking up the baseball for a couple of months, and within my search on Ebay, notice that football does not command near the prices that baseball does. The rookies come fairly close but the others only reach about 1/4 to 1/3 of the price. Is baseball that much more dominant? I don't collect football so I would appreciate some experts weighing in.

In general, I think this is roughly true.
  • I don't know how long you've been collecting cards, but I remember back in 89 when football cards were first getting some attention from the collectors around here. Maybe it's cause it's Detroit and LIONS country but nobody was collecting football cards. I think the football cards can never be as valuable as the baseball cards because in a 162 game season you get to know the players on your team a lot better. Football cards are still popular with some but the difference is in the sport not the cards.

However, the orange bowman football cards are the only ones I've seen with a crooked cut job. I've seen a lot of baseball orange refractors and there was never a crooked cut in the ones I've seen.

Bowman chrome rules in baseball, you just can't compare it to football which really never took off. For years topps has played by different rules and were
able to get rookie in before they play. This rule doesn't exist in football.
