I ordered a wax box of 85 Topps football from BBCE today **Scans Included**

I have never been a football collector before, but the football rip we had changed all that. I really liked the way the 85's looked, at least once you got past the warping, moldiness and bubbled cards.

I must also say that another good thing about the pack rips/case breaks held on these boards is that guys get exposed to something new and it helps to expand their collecting knowledge. I would never had bought the 85's if it wasn't for the rip we had.

I chose the 85's for a few reasons. one I am a sucker for the black cards, 2007 Topps included and two, their are a lot of HOFER's in this set 40 or so, including Sweetness.

Steve shipped them to me today so I should have them tommorow and will post some scans. Hopefuilly, I will be able to replace the Dent RC and the Payton that I am getting ready to send back to Gary

    I sent a total of 13 cards to PSA to be graded. The other nice thing about this box is that I only need roughly 40 more cards to finish the set image

    No Elway or Payton. There were 2 Payton Highlights cards.

    Congrats Bunker, cards look "pack fresh" indeed!

    Is it me, or is the 1985 FB design one of the least appealing ever?


    Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

    The design of the players' name though with the tiny first name over the huge last name is god awful IMO.

    Horizontal is usually good. I love all the cards from the '72 set that are oriented that way, some of the nicest ones from the '73 are, too (Ron Johnson's card is primo) and in Baseball, there are many examples from the mid '70's sets ('71 Munson, '74 Garvey and Gary Matthews, etc.)

    Agree wholeheartedly with that, but the 85 FB design is not nearly as aesthetically pleasing as the examples you mentioned.
