For the Bracketeers... McNeal of Marquette out for first game

In case this helps anybody decide... CORRECTION!!! Now it's been announced it's only for the first game.

Marquette will be without starting guard Jerel McNeal for the NCAA Tournament, according to coach Tom Crean.

McNeal injured his right thumb on March 2 -- the day before the regular-season finale against Pittsburgh -- and has missed Marquette's last three games.

McNeal averaged 14.7 points for the Golden Eagles (No. 19 ESPN/USA Today; No. 18 AP) this season.

Marquette plays Michigan State in the first round of the tournament on Thursday.
