Opinion: Does This Have A Chance At A PSA 10?

Opinion requested please. Does this have ANY chance at a PSA 10 or if not, perhaps a BGS 9.5.

    8 or 9

What type of slab is it in currently?

I don't think it has a shot at 10 either. The print dot (shotgun shots I call them) over his left shoulder is very common on that card and I don't think I've seen on in a psa 10 or bgs 9.5 holder.
  • Man I hope that is not already in a 10 slab.

It looks to be in a psa slab already

here's an 8 and a 9 for comparison. I think you have a solid 8, minimum, although what is that mark between the K and M?

    Dear Envoy98 and Board Members,

I found this in my database of cards. It's a PSA 10 and appears to have print dots over McGwire's left shoulder.

The card is currently a PSA 9. I'm debating whether 1) to crack it out or not and 2) if so, whether to send it to PSA or BGS. Based on the responses thus far, I think I'll keep the card in its holder.

P.S. It is a McGwire Tiffany.

  • Depends how many times you're willing to send it to be graded.

    You'll get your 10.
  • With the left border no way!! A rough cut is expected on the Tiffany issues....but when they look like the blade on a saw and really pitted...they'll whack you.

If it was an O-pee-chee it would be a 10! image

Rough cut on the left edge and below average registration keep this card out of a 10 holder for sure, IMO.

    Thank you.

Just about every card that's in a 9 holder (and many high end 8's) will come back a 10 at some point if you send them in enough times. People who get this do quite well buying and selling cards. People who don't give away equity in cards.

You may get your 10 after about 46 times with this particular card, but by then you may as well have bought another PSA 10 with all the submission fees.

Edit: The crack and submit method is a viable one in many cases, but I just don't see this card ever making it into a PSA 10 holder. JMO.
