Question on Shipping to Canada

I received a question about sending a single graded card to Canada. What is the cost and what is involved? This is a low value card, around $6.00. I told him that I accept Paypal, money orders and checks. Can I use delivery confirmation? Thanks for any info.

  • If you are using USPS, I am pretty sure the only way to track to Canada is by using Global Express, which is not worth it for a $6 card in my opinion. I guess FedEx or UPS would work too, but that again is probably not worth it.
    Thanks

For a $6 card, just send it regular airmail. Single card to Canada in a bubble mailer is under 90 cents. You CANNOT use delivery confirmation. The only way to get tracking is to go by Global Priority mail starting at $4.25 or Registered Mail starting at $7.90 (that's just for the service alone, then tag on the weight). If I ship anything over $25 to Canada, it goes Global Priority. They get it within 6 business days and Paypal compliance.

EagleEyeKid is exactly right - just send it airmail. But, the one drawback to shipping to Canada is you have to fill out a customs form, and then stand in line at the PO to drop the package off (I do most everything online, or at the self-serve kiosks). I wish they would come up with a simpler method for international shipping, or at least for U.S. to Canada.

  • Thanks for the info, I told him $2.50 for the card. He then went in and placed bids on all my cards, including an 11 graded card lot. I guess I will be asking about packages if he wins them all. Thanks again.

You mean Global EXPRESS mail, correct?

    Global Priority CANNOT be tracked.

The only mail that can be tracked going by USPS... is Global EXPRESS or Registered Mail, not priority.

    Thanks

  • Unless you can provide a tracking number to paypal... you lose all seller's protection with Paypal.

    Thanks

    Hmmm.... 11 cards?

    I would be careful here.

What does his feedback look like?

If you cannot provide a tracking number to Paypal. All he/she has to do, is say, he/she never received the items.

Paypal will refund all of his money, no questions asked.

    Good Luck

Whatever you do, make sure you honestly fill out the customs forms. It's worth a couple extra bucks in insurance and taxes to make sure your package arrives safely.

    I speak from experience.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
