Curious

Since the inception of grading the majority of serious collectors have taken the extra step to preserve and protect their respected collections.

I have been collecting for quite awhile and I'm still amazed when I see Gem 10's that are 40-50 yrs old. I know some sellers out there specifically target older commons in hopes of getting that elusive 10 and make a huge profit by doing so. This of course with grading in mind and how it changed the hobby.

I was lucky enough to get a couple of shoe boxes full of cards my Father collected from the 50's and 60's but no way any of them would come close to a 10.

I'm curious if anyone here was lucky enough to go back into their personal collection and pull any 10's with significant age.

I don't know about 10s but goose graded a lot of his dad's collection of cards from around 1959 with great results!

    Good question css.

Here's my attempt with my last year's club sub:

Perhaps if I sub about 40 of them - the grader will get fatigued and have assigned a 10 to this?

Some of these cards are so condition sensitive - getting a 10 is pretty darn hard.
