Paul, they wouldn't slab it as the Discovery Coin without a lot of proof. But this isn't my Discovery Piece. This is the second one that I found. I am keeping my Discovery Coin. The discovery coin has cetain nicks and dings that can be identified in the photographs so far taken by the experts during their attributions. It can be identified in photos that appeared in Coin World as the first one discovered. Some of the experts who examined it have agreed to write me letters of attribution if needed for it to achieve "Discovery Coin" status with a TPG service. But no, I have not actually contacted any of the grading services about that. I have had very little success in the past getting my discovery coins labeled Discovery Coin. So in that respect I know it takes a lot of proof.
