Another story about doing business on these forums...

...this time, about CU member Pittsburghese...

What a great guy!

After the 80's FB break (Thanks, Gary!!!) I decided that I wanted to do the 1986 FB set. I put out a request on the B/S/T forums, looking for '86 commons.

I even specified that if nobody wanted to part with the Rice or even Esiasion, Kosar, Smith, White, Payton, Marino, Elway, etc.... that was OK. And I didn't need PSA 10 all the way through, just some nice "pack fresh" commons...

Well, he replied that he had opened a lot of them, and could put a set together (minus the Rice) for a great price.

I got the set this morning... Ah, to see those Dokie Williams, Fulton Walkers, Phil McConkeys and Refigerator Perrys looking back at me was awesome. They were in great shape!

The '86s were the first football cards I'd ever bought (on a school field trip, no less) and the Jim McMahon was the first card in the pack. So, this was a great trip down memory lane for me.

Thanks to Pittsburghese (Jeffrey) for the great set.

Don't let the bad apples sour you, there are still a ton of geat collectors out there.

Now, I need to look for a Rice rookie!

Thanks for the story. While I don't post often I am on these boards every day. Over the years I have done dozens of trades and purchases from board members and I have never had one go wrong. I have even had members send me cards I needed to complete sets and ask for nothing in return. I know this Gary thing won't ruin peoples buisness on these boards there are simply too many good people here.
