Is this machine doubling or double?

I am not sure how te tell the difference

I though it probably was mechanical doubling, but when both the Halfs in the two mint sets had the same doubling, I thought that was a little strange ...although, they were shipped together from the mint and may have been struck at the same time. so maybe that explains it.

    Hey bluelobster,
As was explained to me years ago by a REALLY smart CONECA member, the dies can sometimes take on a rhythm of their own when striking coins, then can sometimes produce very repeatable bouncing or striking errors on coin after coin.
Some coins are just plain "Interesting"
