Shaqfu/Red Zone sets? experiences?

I've been looking to get some nice sets from the 1970-80 period and red zone (shaqfu) always has some nice sets up. They call their sets NM-MT+ or MINT, I was wondering if anyone has bought sets from them before and how overgraded have the cards been?

These cards raw?
I had one deal with them. worked out fine Psa cards.
Others have had less luck.

Here's the scoop on this guy...he lives very close to me....he goes to shows and pretty much buys entire tables or very large lots from guys at HUGE discounts. They know him and what he does. Then he just pops it on ebay.
Again, some raw is overgraded but not anymore than you normally see on ebay.

<< <i>shaqfu is the same guy who was busted on this board and the Beckett board for creating fake patch cards - he would buy a plain jersey card, remove the swatch, and insert a cutout piece of a special patch (although not from a player's jersey). There was no doubt about his treachers - he did it with some serial numbered jersey cards that he offered the altered version while the original was still searchable in completed auctions.

I've always wondered about this guy. I guess that answers my question. He seems to always have a bunch of stuff that he deems "mint".
On a side note, I've followed '76 Topps a bit and $315 seems like an awful lot for the particular set linked above.
He may also have been the person who tampered with a slab to sell a creased card in a PSA 7 slab - on a Bobby Orr rookie. It was shown by auction pictures that the slab was already tampered with (the flip had been damaged) when it left his possession.

personally, their review of the cards was pretty accurate and that set only cost $1,100.

I think he does a slick piece of marketing, he list the set as mint then in the discription here is what he says.
SWEET. AWESOME SET. 90% OF SET IS MINT, NRMT-MT AND NRMT. LOADED WITH STARS AND ROOKIES. SWEET VINTAGE SET!!
So you are not getting a mint set you are getting a Nrmt+ set.
I think $300 is a little pricey from what will probably end up being mostly nrmt.
(well that is just my opinion
They cherry pick the best for grading and then sell the rest as lots.
Occasionally, you'll find some slider 8s in the batch - that just barely qualify centering-wise.

I don't know if he still peddles that GEM graded crap, but all those cards are trimmed. The PSA stuff he sells, I don't know about it either... good chance some of it is trimmed and got slabbed anyways.
Once a card doctor, always a card doctor in my opinion.
I bought some off grade stuff...EX+/NM for a couple of customers that don't want to pay big bucks. They like the stuff, and there was enough room to make a little.
If my memory serves me right, weren't they in the forefront of the "ORR rookie with the cracked case" issue??
Personally....no problems.
he was more in the middle................of that fiasco with brian
Steve
so would you say finding a "TRUE" nm-mt or mt vintage baseball set is pretty close to impossible, all things considered?
