What is this guy smoking?

He says "looks 5" in the title - this card is lucky to be a 4, looks 3 from here - "very nice corners" = nothing disturbs the smooth roundness of the corners;"fantastic centering" - not!

I don't know why this offering spun me out so much - it's not like this kind of BS ballyhoo doesn't run rife on ebay daily, but....

    I cant see the scan well enough to make a judgement but it doesnt appear to be that bad.

    I hear ya, Morrell. I find when looking through auctions there always seems to be one that just bugs the heck out of you.

    I have to say that I do like his history and pic of the player in his description.

    But, in the end, a selling ploy.

    Mark- I don't think it's that much of a stretch, I've seen cards like that in 5 holders.
    I don't agree with the grade, but it's happened.

    Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

    Looks like a 4 to me. I've seen some terrible cards in PSA holders lately. Idon't want to start the grading bash, but I've seen worse.

    Nah, don't even count them anymore. It's a two horse race now.

    In all fairness, I think it is a two horse race among three companies:

    Pre 1972: PSA and SGC
    Post-1972: PSA and BGS

    I think with any card graded by any company, one could always argue +/- 1 grades and sometimes more. Seller's just trying to market, I reckon.
