Does Paypal refund for fakes?

Found a Ripken I need. (One of the 2 I need to finish my known master set *tear comes to eye*) Problem is I have never seen one so it could be fake plus seller bought card in a lot to flip stars as they often have done. So orgin is questionable.

Seller also buys (well twice I have found so far) 1933 Nap Lajole reprints for $2 and flips them for $32 and once $200 (sad) but doesnt say its a reprint and pic of back is blurry in both situations. So they are obviously shady sellers. I dont want to pass this chance as its either a version I need, a rare version I dont need but could easily sell if its not what I hope it is or its fake.

BOTTOM LINE---------

Auction says no Refunds. If I get it I can tell if card is fake. Will Paypal refund me if it is or do I need a 2nd party (ie BGS,PSA) opinion or am I out of luck.

Thanks in advance,Donovan

If you get it, PayPal won't refund your money. However, if you get it and paid via credit card, do a chargeback if it's fake. Credit card companies are a lot more understanding.

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

Paypal will refund if you file a complaint for the item being "not as described", you will have to prove that the item is not as desribed but they will do it.

    That is correct.

PP will ask you to send the card to PSA, and wait for a decision,
and go through a bunch of rigamarol.

If you fund the PP purchase with your CC, the CC company will
just tell you to send the card back to the seller, and reverse
    the charge.

In order to stay on good terms with PP, it will still be necessary
for you to "appear" to cooperate with their procedure.

  • I'm actually going through something very similiar right now. A couple months ago, I bought a pair of shoes on eBay and I believe that they are fake. They are suppose to be made in Indonesia but the tag says China. I made a complaint through paypal and they said that all I have to do is fax them proof that the shoes aren't real and they will refund my money
