Another rip-off...

I don't know if this has hit the forum already, but it was broadcast last night on Fox News- New York. A NJ dealer sold a collector 2 fake 1951 Bowman Mantles. Reporter Arnold Diaz does a piece called "Shame, shame , shame" which exposes scams, cheats, thieves etc.
Earlier this morning the whole video piece was still on the Fox News NY site. Find Diaz in the Reporter link and click on his "Shame..." piece.

I think this is the link to the piece...

Awesome! I love it when crooks get taken to task for what they've done.

I love how he casually dismisses what SGC said, then followed up with "well I'm not a professional."

I wonder how much business he gets now.

However, the guy should have done his homework and read up on spotting fakes.

Makes one wonder if some of those Mantle autos he's got in his collection are fakes.

I saw it last night as well.

Although I loathe scam-artists and rip-off thieves, I must seriously question any collector willing to spend multiple thousands of dollars on a baseball card without doing some due diligence and research....

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

    I agree.

The buyer should have done his homework before making such a purchase. Then again, he did say he's bought items from that dealer in the past so maybe his guard was down. That being said, he also should have charged the purchase onto a credit card.
