Jamal Lewis signs 1 year deal with Browns

Whatever

Comments

  • Could be a good situation...he's not that far removed from a big season, and won't be asked to carry the team....all successful teams will be going to a 2-feature back. Look at the Bears, Colts, Saints, and Patriots last year, they all employed a 2 back set.

It's the rule not the exception at this point.

The Browns need to shore up that O-line some and Lewis could help the team.
  • They just signed Steinbach who can play tackle or guard. They tried last year, but what happended to Bentley was not their fault

Edited to add: I think they're trying

Agreed, that Bentley deal is just bad luck for everyone, him and the Browns. Lets see how they do in the draft.
  • i was so upset when we let go of Steinbach..he always played awesome for us..im from ohio, obviously a bengals fan, but i have watched alot of browns games and i dont think they are far off at all from being a very good team..i really dont understand why they lose so many games because they always seem so close..maybe romeo? idk but they will be good soon and im not looking foward to it!

Jamal Lewis lost his skills over two years ago. He's afraid to get hit. Another bad signing by Cleveland...
  • What signings have been bad for them? At 3 million for one year, how much are they out if he is a bust

Droughns, Jeff Garcia to name a few. As for the draft, let's see, Couch, Warren, Brown. For that matter, almost every draft since they re-entered the league in '99.

They set the bar really high for the Texans image

Droughns is the only one that was a free agent under the current management and if you remember in 2005 he gained 1200 yards.

Garcia was a Butch Davis free agent pickup and the others Couch, Warren, Brown were draft picks from a previous GM

They're 42-86 since they returned to the NFL. 'Nuff said. Even if you look at the current regime (Crennel), they are 12-20. I wouldn't say the free agent signings have been 'good'. Right now, they are a very bad team, with or without Jamal Lewis. Why waste $3 million a year on him when you're not going anywhere this year?
  • Oh I think they are going somewhere this year. You try putting together an NFL franchise in 7 months....good management or not...it doesn't happen. When you have a loose foundation the structure crumbles.

Look at the Texans...they had 3 years to build a franchise and they still suck.

If Charlie Frye plays decent they have a chance

Edited to add: How many people thought the Saints would be 1 game from the Super Bowl this year. That is the beauty of the NFL

  • Next to my Brownies, the Texans red alt jersey is my favorite in the NFL
