Why is it every night I vow to put away my card "piles"

I sit here mindlessly transfixed on cu, ebay and bbcx? I 've been saying it for the past week, "Yup, tonight's the night Tonya ,my dresser top will be wiped clean" image

I start the night with good intentions but they always end up going horribly wrong. Is there some type of motivational organization pill I can take?

I cant be alone. Somebody tell me I'm not alone so we can feel bad together image

Been that way for me ever since 1987. Even when I clean them up, it takes about a week for my floor/desk to be covered again.

  • Matt,

You and Tanya should incorporate your Emmit Smiths into foreplay.

You wouldn't believe how WILD my wife gets for a raw 1993 Shane Mack Refractor!!!! If I want her to really go crazy, I pull out the PSA 9!!

Matt - wasn't it just a few months ago that you earned yourself a hundred bucks by cleaning off that dresser? What happened with that?

I can't find my flash card for my camera to take some photos of some things I want to get rid of. The piles are getting in the way of the piles. Does that help, Matt?

image Yup, your right. What happened was cu, ebay and bbcx. Between friends on the board sending me cards, buying them off ebay and getting wax boxes from bbcx, the piles returned like a bad rash image

I dont think you should dust it, because it reminds you of the good times you had!

Eh, good thread. I was just thinking last night how much work I create for myself every time I buy cards. Last summer I bought about 1000 cards of 1973 Topps. As of last night, I still have about 75 that need put in sleeves, separated for grading, selling, etc.

It has taken me two months to review the raw cards I have for grading, and I'm only halfway done. I'm also 2 months in to putting all of my 1980's sets into sheets and binders, and I'm only halfway done with that too. It would take me until July to get fully caught up with this organizing, and that assumes I buy nothing between now and then.

It looks like the cards were didn't want to leave.. Like in horror movies where you see the fingernail marks from being dragged away?

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

maybe motivation is to check out the theard the guy post about his alcinder rc. he left it out and wax from a burning candle drop on the back. he sent it in anyway to be graded and it came back a 1.

Josh, not yet. Since the Butler arrived I've taken two separate vacations and then took on a new position at work that results in 12-hour days. And now that Heritage has landed? Fuhgedaboudit! I'll have someone send it in eventually - it's not a priority.

I recently cleaned up a bunch of my piles. My desk will be even cleaner after my eBay auctions end. I am also getting ready to donate about 60,000 cards to charity. Its all good!

The before/after photo of the top of your TV is hilarious, I especially like the new fingerprints forged into the dust when you removed the cards. I think alot of us are in the same boat. image

Just make sure the "charity" is a "charity" and not some loser posing as such image

I already put it next to my wrapper covered "sports bar".

Do you have any extra wrappers?

I'm having problems buying them on ebay. It seems some other shmuck bought them all up
