Alpha PSA Magic cards - and storage!

Hello everyone, I'm new to the PSA Forums - some of you may know me from the Starcity Games forum.

I have just started an Alpha set, and plan to do it ungraded and graded - a mixture at first , so that I can get a good feel for PSA.

I have a question about storing cards. I know that PSA likes the Card Saver I for submission, but I found these a bit awkward for storing. The cards are fairly difficult to insert, due to the tightness of the plastic - so I find toploaders a bit easier for raw cards.

Also, I'd love to pick up one of those MJ Roop Cherry boxes - does anyone know where they still sell them? (As the original company seems to be out of business!)

I look forward to this thread, and making my PSA Alpha set grow! I'll post it on the PSA registry once I have enough cards to justify it. image

  • Hey Crash,

Welcome aboard - I always love dragging in another unwitting victim to the insanity image

Don't wait to start a Registry - show them cards off proudly!!! Besides, if I know you your "only" graded card is a PSA 10 Lotus image

Best of luck on tracking down a Roops Cherry box; I got one a week before they went under and it is gorgeous. Lately they have been selling for crazy money, but after a bit I would think the prices will settle down. If not, then I guess someone will start up the business again and cash in!!

  • Welcome to the Forums T!

I found a rather inexpensive way to store graded cards in 3 row shoeboxes. Normally, you cannot fit 3 cards side by side in them but if you take the folded dividers in the center and cut them in half so they are only 1 thickness wide they fit perfectly. Each box holds about 300 graded cards which is just perfect for an Alpha set!

I'll have those scans you requested done before the weekend is over, just been a little hectic at the office and home the past few days.

  • Thanks for the responses guys. I've definitely been looking at many different ways of storing the cards - I want something that protects them from dust and debris, but that also is nice to look at.
