Joey Porter signs with the Fins

Not sure if I would be thrilled about that if I were a Dolphin fan.

Edited to add: 5 years, $32.5 million with $20 million of that guaranteed money.

It's a lot of money for a player that specializes in pass rushing alone. But hey, Charles Haley made a lot of money doing this, too...
  • man! i was really hoping we were going to get him! we need someone like him on our team...the bengals btw

I'm happy to have him....with Zach patrolling the middle, we needed someone to put some pressure on the QB. Dom seems to like to blitz more than past Fins coordinators, so I'm good with the signing.

Porter's on the down side of his career. Reminds me of Jason Gilden and Greg Lloyd when they hit 30.
  • Miami's giving this guy 20 million guaranteed money? Good lord.

As a Steelers fan, this is horse$hit!! Joey Porter WAS one of my favorite Steelers. If the Dolphins don't want him, send him back, he can retire a Steeler.

As a fellow Steeler fan, I liked Porter. I'm just glad they didn't overpay for a player on the downside of his career. Hopefully he can come back his final season to retire a Steeler but for a lot less money. He can do what Chad Brown did this past season. Get a token sack and leave on a high note.

He really wasn't injured that much in his career, save for the time when he got shot in the buttocks!
