Help with an old cello pack I just bought. 1964

Hi, I just bought something I didnt even know existed. It's a 1964 Topps Football Cello pack in MINT condition. It was deemed 100% authentic by one of the top unopened pack specialist. But I never heard of a 1964 Topps cello in Football. Has anyone else ever seen or heard of one. And what do yall think it's worth?? I also picked up a 1967 Topps football cello for only 250.00 and the cards are centered 50-50 front and back. I may bust it. Both are in MINT condition with no tears. Any help would be nice. I plan on sending in the 1964 to psa 2 day grading, but first I would like a little info on the pack.

One more random question for you guys. If I sent in a group of cards(38) to psa for the 5 day Feb special and they recieved them on the 2nd when do you think I will be able to review my grades online. Have they been going the full 5 days or have people been recieving them earlier. And does the weekend count? I sent in some PRE 1969 screamers of HOFers that should recieve 9's.

on the grades , weekend does not count and you will havethem by this friday maybe thursday

as for the 64 pack , I am highly skeptical. it is the pack from dave and adams and why they are very specialized in modern stuff and may have a good idea on wax , i do not think they have much expertise in cellos.
1.) the guy grading for gai who graded all of the bogus 58 cellos , grocery cellos and other cellos which I have seen used to be their main authenticator / buyer
2.) they sold a 60 cello on ebay , ungraded , which they insisted was good and had side to side seals and thick cellophane

so I just am not going to hold their opinion too highly on a pack that no one knew existed and they just happened to come across one and didn't bother to have it authenticated themselves by a 3rd party.

is it worth the 500 that you paid , probably if it is legit but my gut tells me it is not. if you send it gai , I am sure they will authenticate it like many of the other bogus 60's cellos they have been authenticating .

if you really care if it is real or not , send it to psa to be graded and see what steve says. if you only care that it gets put in a holder so you can hopefully sell it , send it to gai.

Yes it did come from Dave and adam, And I did ask them if they knew about all the fake cellos and how to tell if they are real or not. They offered me a 100% refund if it turns out fake. They said they found 2 of them and this was the last. My only concern was I never new 1964 Football cello existed. If the cello is loose I will send them back. I also called steve and he said they did exist but it should not come with gum inside. I havent seen it yet but it will be here tomorrow. I may just send it to steve then. Seemed to good to be true. 1964 is tough for anything unopened.

Also the cellophane looked to be thin in the pic. What do you think I should look for on this pack??? And how should the folds be???

I saw it there 2 weeks ago and passed , maybe a mistake on my part but wasn't worth the gamble. you will need to compare it other cellos from the era , the cello should be thin , should have some signs of aging . there aren't alot of 64 cellos in any sport so it will be tough to compare but there are plenty of 65's to use for reference. the only real way to know is to have someone like steve who has seen thousands of cellos look at it. I don't think dave and adams handles that kind of volume on vinatge so you definately need a second opinion.

tough to tell from a scan with all of that wrinkling, it is sealed the right way and is pretty consistant with the others I have seen so probably ok . 68's seem to be the worst , have seen a few with heavy cello and a game card on the back that just don't look right.

Of the packs? I think Im going to send it to Steve bf i send it to psa. I want to know it's 100% real bf I do anything now.
