Does anything look strange on the scan of the back? I won this card and now see the scan of the back, which looks like his name from the front is seen through the back of the card? Is this normal in 1948 Bowman?

Yes, quite common for Play Balls, Bowmans, and other issues from that same era.

Edited to add earlier issues such as Goudeys and Diamond Stars...
