It would cost this guy more to ship payment than it would for me to ship the card.

"Various pieces of metal." Technically, he could be referring to coins. By the way, I checked the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture and leaned that "stamps" are no longer utilized and Electronic Benefit Cards (EBT) are used, similar to debit cards. I guess you learn something new everyday.

I always wondered why they called them 'stamps' when in fact they were food coupons.

Guess it is a welfare thing.

    I'm still hungry.

    They are!

My 1983 Donruss Ryne Sandberg rc was eaten by a few roaches. I still have it too. The chewed up the left edge really good.

Food stamps are now like uber-cool credit cards!!
  • CariconCaricon Posts: 819 ✭✭
I've seen food stamps when they looked like real currency. But that was 16 years ago. And they now just
come on debit cards. They have the card readers at the checkout lane where I go food shopping. Stops
people from selling the food stamps for other items. It is against the law to buy/sell or trade food stamps
for items that they are not atteneded for. Like cigs, beer, baseball cards...

I'll tell you what...those who get food stamps are eating a heck of a lot better than I am. I dont go to the grocery store and load up on lobster, crablegs, and prime rib...but I have often times seen them buy items that you would think was going to be their last meal(s).
