    SHOCKER!!!!
  • So what..nothing's been proven, just some publicity hungry broad looking for her 15 minutes.

He'll never see a conviction on this...much ado about nothing.

Yeah, given Artest's spotless past and wonderful personality I have no doubt it's the dame's fault.

Just because he doesn't get a conviction doesn't mean he's free from any guilt (Ray Lewis anyone)

Yeah, one time, and this may not have made the national news, I saw him jump into the stands and beat a guy up. Last time I checked beating a guy up was in fact a crime.

great, axtell is back again. last time I checked neglecting/starving your dogs was a crime, too...
  • Anyone remember in his rookie season he applied at Circuit City, just to get the employee discount. Or the time he attended practice in a bath robe. Or the time he asked his team for a month of (during season) to promote his CD. Or the time he destroyed a tv camera at Madison Square. Had a run in with Pat Riley (suspensed 4 games)

One a punk, always a punk
  • In 2004, Artest completed anger management for a domestic violence charge, and the mother of his children was charged with the same crime for hitting Artest in 2002.

From espn.com - guess he broke a law there as well, axtool..

Artest. Sprewell, etc. are just more recent versions of "thug" basketball players.

One I remember from the 1970s was Marvin "Bad News" Barnes. He was always in trouble. I remember one situation that got a lot of media coverage. He got mad at a teamate and showed up at practice the next day with a tire iron to attack his teamate with. He had to be restrained and removed from the practice facility.

Dude, you seriously need to find a new hero.
Why worship a sociopathic moron just because he can throw a ball through a hoop? Hell, a trained seal can do that!

How would you like to have some scumbag use your mom, sister, or daughter for a punching bag ... image

    Pix of 'My Kids'

"How about a little fire Scarecrow ?"
  • Dude you need to read what I wrote...he's hardly my 'hero', I simply asked what crimes he's been convicted of.

People want to call NBA players 'thugs' or the league a 'thug' league, perhaps you should look at the NFL for that distinction. While an NFL player is 'making it rain' and dropping $81k on strippers, then coming back and shooting up the place (and paralyzing a guard there), it somehow comes back on the NBA?

What about Tank Johnson getting busted a third time on weapons charges, then days later a member of his entourage being shot and killed?
What about the countless Bengals who have been arrested this past year?

Look, if you don't like the NBA, that's fine. But don't blow this Artest thing out of proportion.

Just because he has never been "convicted" of a crime doesn't mean he's not a bad guy.

Heck, OJ's never been convicted of anything, do you think he's unjustly criticized as a bad guy?

No one said the NBA is the only league with thugs. But to argue that Artest is not one of them is silly.

I dont think anyone is blowing it out of proportion, if this happened to a guy like Paul Pierce or someone it might not be a big topic here but this kid has got history of being a hot-head and nobody is suprised at this happening.
  • Forget it....some people are comfortable with their prejudices.

    And what prejudices are those?
