Am I seeing thing or is this '58 Mantle not a '58 Mantle

Check out the lame photo.
The seller claims in the first paragraph that it is a photo of the card you will receive. In the second paragraph he shows a photo of the back, noting it is a photo of a reprint since he didnt have the original available.
If you look closely at the photo of the front it appears to be the reprint done in '96 I believe.
Dunno why this even surprises me since there is at least one ebay Mantle scam every day.
Hmmm

"Q: if ya read the bottom of the card, it is part of a set! why do you try to scam people?

A: The card I am selling IS a 1958 Mantle. I did not get a good picture of the card so I used a reprint picture to show which Mantle I was selling. I GUARANTEE...more"

If you notice he claims the photo to be original and ONLY the photo of the back to be of a reprint though.
Is it so tough to just be 100% honest and forthright ? If this guy had ANY intention on being 100% honest he would have made it clear in at least 5 different ways that he did NOT have the original photo from the second he listed the card. He would NOT have stated that the first pic was the card you will receive followed by a back photo of a reprint where he states its a reprint and ONLY when he was called on it explain that BOTH photos were reprints.
Call me harsh but in my book if you try and be the slightest bit deceiptfull even once you should get a lifetime ban from using ebay. If you are 100% honest each time there shouldnt be any problem with abiding by that guidline.

I am down with that, too.
EBAY would need to hire some competent folks, who could make
an objective judgement about what "deceptive" really is.
All Ebay would say is "We must leave it to the seller and the consumer. We can't go to each individual's home to see if they are representing their product accurately. We do everything we can to prevent fraud...yada yada poop poop poop..."
Pah!
The best we can hope for is a system of watching out for each other like we have going here. The last few days around here proved how well that can work.

<< <i>This is a fine original 1958 TOPPS MICKEY MANTLE #150 card . The card is ExMT and it looks outstanding, but look at the scan and check for yourself. It has good centering, but the corners are just a little fuzzy. The card has a crease from Mantle's nose to his left ear, and the bottom right corner is a little scrunched. >>
He also seems to have a problem with over grading his reprint cards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
