Am I trimmed?

image

I thought the left edge looked a little uneven. Admittedly, I didn't do the pixel thing but does anyone else think the top is narrower than the bottom on that left border?

I've got a lot to learn about spotting surgery but I know some of you guys on here have a great eye.

To me, the entire card looks like it's tilted a bit to the left. If were to draw a straight line from the card corner to the border corner, the top left and bottom right sides would be a shorter line than the bottom left and top right. I don't know if I'd say the card is trimmed, but I would say that it is angled a bit.

  • Another pic and the back, if that helps.

Storm, any idea what that detracts as far as grading goes? Is there any kind of standard for a tilt or is it one of those "all up to the grader/eye appeal" deals?

    Thanks

If you rotate the image so that the top and bottom are parallel to the ground, the sides are both equally slanted to the right.

    Diamond cut I guess?

Height and width are within a few pixels of being the same on each side.

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
  • Nightcrawler, is there an easy way to level pictures like that? I haven't leaned anything yet today so help me out. image

I just use the rotate picture feature in my paint program.

There's probably something better out there, I think the pro 8 is nearly 6 years old.

  • I don't know how anyone can tell it's trimmed. It looks like the image is not centered in the frame, obviously, but the cards edges seem ok. I don't see obvious jagged edges or wavy cuts along the edges and I have no clue what the dimensions of the card are vs. what the acceptable range is. And, you would need a loupe to look at the edges for this card IMO since the picture is blurry and small to begin with.
