Grading questions? please advise....

I have two questions to this vast audience of collectors:

1) What year and back is it worth getting a common card graded if it would only get a PSA 1-4?

2) I submitted the free (75%+) set registry cards on 2/7/07 and how long till I should have them pop?
succesful deals :richtree, Bosox1976, Bkritz, mknez, SOM, cardcounter2, ddfamf, cougar701, mrG, Griffins : thanks All

    Question 1) Nothing post 1952
Question 2) It can vary dramatically

Regarding question #1 for football, I would say only Chicles and Mayos. Even for Chicles, I would say SPs for sure, but if it's in the first series and only a PSA 1 or 2, it may not be worth it.

edited to include only Chicles and Mayos

  • I would grade any vintage common card I need for set completion if I thought it could get a 4, however I am not trying to resell in which case I would agree with nothing after 1952.
  • I would agree with Guy with the caveat that there are definitely certain sets where key PSA 4 commons are worth grading post 1952. Dan Dee, Wilson Franks, Kahn's, 59 Bazooka, 68T 3-D....

Seeking primarily PSA graded pre-war "type" cards
