Contest for my 3000th post

To celebrate my 3000th post I figured why not throw out a fun little contest.

With the baseball season just around the corner this was the idea I had in mind...

Whoever can guess correctly the player who hits the first regular season home run in the major leagues this yr. wins their choice of the following,

1. 1987 Topps rack box
2. Goose Gossage print ( approx. 11x17) signed and numbered by the artist and Gossage
3. 1986 Fleer baseball complete set

If someone can guess correctly not only the batter who hits the first home run of the 2007 season but the opposing pitcher they will have their choice of 2 of the above prizes PLUS I will purchase for them a PSA 9 card of my choice of a member of the 3000 hit club. ( something along the lines of a PSA 9 Gwynn RC, a PSA 9 1978 Pete Rose, etc....just examples of what to expect )

Everyone will have only ONE guess and all guesses must be submitted prior to opening day.

Correct, there will be no ties. Once a player is chosen he is off limits for others to choose. I should have clarified that to begin with and thank you for bringing that to my attention.

I haven't checked the schedule to see if the Blue Jays even play the Dodgers this year, but even if they did, at the very least it wouldn't be until interleague starts sometime in May. Bound to be a couple dingers hit by then!

At any rate, my guess is Prince Fielder off of Derek Lowe.
