What card image just sets your heart a'thumpin'?

I saw this card offered - it's not a great condition version - but the image alone just makes my blood start to rush:

What card image has that effect on you?
Edited to add (for my good friend goose and others) - this card happens to be a '61 Morrell Meats Koufax, but it is the same image to be found on the '59 Morrell Meats card. I've searched for this card for so many decades that all I need to see is the image and that adrenaline kicks in - this card represents the hobby for me.

let me find a pic of one that I really like....I'll come back and add it.
The Ruth 33 Goudeys have grown on me...I really like this one. I'll have to snag some of the Ruths until I can find a crappy enough Lajoie to buy.

To me, this is the perfect baseball card (and no I'm not kidding). Aside from the understated card layout and design, this is a great action shot of a gritty player. (And it helps that he played college ball at my alma mater.)
Not really thumpin Mark
But, I've always like this colors in this Wallace card.
Too bad it's disgustingly trimmed.

A card that sorta reminds me of both, is Steve Bilko 61 topps # 184. If I knew how to cut & post I'd do it myself. I'm very computer challenged.
Again Matt Thanks to you and others that exposed some light on the evening, Sonny

<< <i>Southern Cards, say it ain't so! Are both of those cards in PSA holders?
I dont think so, I think they are tightly cropped images from this site - 1953 Bowman color
Dont worry, I havent given up on my allegiance to SGC!

I love the white background, the close up portrait and the smaller full body pose. It just makes the colors pop, but these 2 specific examples really pop because their uniforms are mostly white. I like the simplicity of the logos they put on the card as well. These images, without a clear cut border all around just makes them kick ass.
keeping my ears open for oddball cards of Rose from the 60's and 70's.

Those are plastic edges and arrowheads at the corners. Nice cards.

There are many that get me goin', but I'll limit myself to posting just this one...
Sorry for being dense - BTW - I did notice it was a different pic but it didn't register beyond that.
Ya know? I don't have a thumper - a holy grail.
I'm assuming you're talking about a card so rare - even if ya have the $ - it rarely shows itself?
I did have game like that - about 3 years ago - when I started collecting board games, I noticed Parker Brothers had different peg baseball games - spanning the century.
I posted the very poor game I picked up - and as I realized - after the fact - it was incomplete.
Well, only a month later - the plot thickens - I'll report the update when the new game comes in.
Thanx for the thread - good timing!

.....I didn't collect much of the '90s and don't buy much of anything newer, so I couldn't comment on those. But these cards just stand out...in my mind....for different reasons.

This actual card is one of my favorites for another reason... it really has it all, soft corners, rough edges, tack hole, hand writing, and the back has a layer of glue.
I've got a good mind to crease it
Whoa ! Big fella, step away from the card slowly....

I'm also a huge fan of the 1922 The Champion Jack Dempsey card. I love the pitch black background so that just a small portion of him shows up on the card. Issued in weekly magazines is nice too.

<< <i>Not a specific card but a specific time in baseball's (and America's) history. I love the artwork of the A&G, invoking a special sense of time and place. Too bad they had to turn this into a gimmicky reprint set recently. >>
I have to agree the orginal A&G's are heart thumpin' cards. But I feel compelled to come to the defense of the "reprint" set.
I'll acknowledge the gimmicky part for sure (multiple mini parallel sets, wooden 1 of 1's, cards inside cards?), and not as wonderful as the orginals... but still, I think, beautiful cards.
Of course, they look even better with autographs.
VERY NICE CARD!
