    Wow!

That is awesome! I see a new 2004 PR set in the registry coming up image

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

    Shoot, I thought I did good when I got 70's on 15 of 20 $5 gold coins.

Whoever did that must have spent some quality time going through a few hundred proof sets. The Cent and the Silver Kennedy are really tough.

<< <i>Is it possible this was a result from a bulk submission with a minimum grade of pr70? >>

No, the bulk department does not allow a minimum of 70. Also there is only 1 line item per denomination so they only submitted that many which falls way short of the Bulk requirements.

I just noticed that the cert. numbers are not consecutive. What does that mean?
    When in doubt, don't.

My guess is that it was a regular or economy submission that had a minimum grade of 70. When the coins arrive the cert numbers are assigned to coins even if they don't meet the minimum grade.

No, it means that the coins were already in PCGS holders, and they were resubmitted for reholdering or for variety attribution

It was a submission from one of "the chosen people". image

i think it was probably a reholder or something and not a direct submission of raw coins.

Maybe the coins are all regrades and the owner was hoping to make the first PR-71DCimage

Probably a reholdering with the owner's pedigree.

I thought I was the only one who thought that about the RED SOX and yankees.

Pedigree... that's it! They all have the "Morgan T Smith Coll." pedigree.
    When in doubt, don't.
  • Options
if that was a regular submission the odds of that happening are just as high as winning the lottery.

No need to get excited folks...this was a reholder order.

I'd guess Ron is a reliable source of info. image

I helped my friend package those coins for their journey to PCGS. He has been wanting to pedigree them for a long time.

That sounds like the best answer.

Most of the cert numbers are dealer bulk, and this is obviously not a bulk submission.

Don't you guys read the other replies? CoinKing (Ron Guth, Pres. PCGS) says it was a reholder. I said I know the owner of the coins and he had them pedigreed. There is no probably about it.

So I was wondering to myself on the ride to work this morning, thinking that he shared this order just to see the response here. Is he a forum member quietly smiling on the sidelines?
