Ravens release Jamal Lewis

Frees up a nice chunk of salary cap change. They say they still would like him back (at a lower price of course).

would be a nice pickup for New England or Pittsburgh, at a reduced salary of course
  • Was due a 5 million roster bonus March 3rd, Ozzie Newsome seemed confident they could/would sign him again

I doubt very much Lewis will regain his 2000 yard form, still an effective running back though. I would not mind the Pats giving him a number 31 jersey.

He's not been anywhere near his prime years since he went to the big house. He'll stay put - although he might be good in Bettis' role in Pitt, splitting carries with fast Willie.

He was a rookie in 2000, I think these are his prime years right now. He still has a ton of production left in him. I say go to Pittsburgh.

'Prime years' for a back aren't in their 8th year in the league, IMO...

Running Backs are like commodities. Too bad.
Proud of my 16x20 autographed and framed collection - all signed in person. Not big on modern - I'm stuck in the past!
