I am going to spend the next 2 full days looking at coins!!

Okay, living in northern Minnesota, I am use to the cold and snow. We typically have snow on the ground for 6-7 months of the year. And after getting 18" of snow this past weekend, we are in a blizzard warning for the next 2 days. They are forecasting 20-24" of snow, with drifts up to 6 feet. Cool. I love the snow.

However, I probably will not be able to make it into work, and it will probably be closed anyways. So, what can I do for 2 days stranded at home? Go though all my coins and sort my collection out!! I have wanted to sit down and get a grib on my coin collection. It has turned into "hoarding" almost, and not stored the way a proper coin collection should be stored and viewed. I plan to take over the kitchen table and counters, and sort everything. Heck, maybe I'll even find a missing coin (1881-S Morgan in PCGS MS66) I bought several years ago. Right now most of my collection is stored in bins and totes in the basement.

I do have a question here... I am looking for a unique way to display some coins, or be able to show someone at my local coin club meeting. Besides the stand Dansco or 3-ring binder folders, what other ways do you have, maybe unique or unusual, to store and display your coins.

You got a Cherry Pickers Guide?

It's always fun to go through your collection with it open and finding junk you never knew you had!

  • In 1972 I met a grizzled old guy in the Yukon Territory on my way to Alaska, who said he'd moved there to get away from the cold. He said he was from International Falls, Minnesota.
    He was dead serious.
