How Do You Get First Strike Label?

Like if I sent in 2007 gold proof eagles, could these get the designation? Thanks.

Bullion coins only qualify for the First Strike designation if you send them into PCGS within 30 days of their release. You also have to specify First Strike and include a $10 per coin charge for the special label.

Typically, SAE's can get First Strike designation anytime between 1/1 and 1/30.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

  • Also, do they have to be in the original package shipped by the Mint?

    No.

That requirement was initially set by PCGS for the 20th Anniversary Silver Eagle Sets since two of the individual coins (the 2006 Proof and the 2006-W Unc) had been release 30 days before the actual release of the sets.
