Nearly hit the tri-fecta in wide AM's today....

Stopped in at the local bank today that my cousin works at to get some rolls of 2006 pennies to search for possible doubled dies (last week that was just about all they had in the bank- new pennies from the Fed) but my cousin was already gone for the day. Asked the teller if she had any rolls, all she had were mixed circulated Fed rolls so I grabbed $10 anyways. First roll I cracked found a 99 wide AM! Bingo! About 1 roll later- bingo a 98 wide AM!, now if I could find a 2000, would have the trio in one lot, but alas it was not to be, my eyes were even playing tricks on me by the end- its amazing how those 1990 dated coins can sometimes look like 99's. This is my second 1999 and fourth 98. I also found a 98 and 2000 ( 4th one I found also) last week while roll searching, after months of not finding any, suddenly looks like I'm on a hot streak!

  • Super! Congrats on those finds! image

For me, on average, I will hit a 98 or 00 Wide AM about every $50 to $75 searched. However, the 99 is another whole story. I'll hit one of those about 6 months of searching.

Now for the 92 and 92-D Close AM -- no joy yet!
