Are there any important 1943-P Jefferson Varieties Besides the Doubled Eye & the 43/2?

Any idea?

I have a 43-P here with fairly obvious doubling throughout the obverse legends, and what I could swear looks like the faint diagonal stroke of the underdate 2 although the bottom horizontal stroke is nowhere in evidence. I can't take a pic with good enough resolution to show much.

This description ring a bell for anyone?

cheers --

  • Hello,

Nagengast's book only lists the two you mention.
Some call it an accumulation not a collection
  • There are a number of other doubled dies. There is also a master hub double with War Jeffs I believe, so you get many many coins that have doubling of some sort. personally I think the doubled eye is the only real important one, the 3/2 is a stretch for me, there is another type that looks close and can be mistaken for the 3/2.
