$3 Square Beaver Silver Proof

I bought two of these in September thinking they were cool quirky coins. They are the only Canadian coins in my collection.



They were $40 a pop at the time and I remember thinking I was getting taken to the cleaners (but what man can refuse a nice gold plated silver beaver)
Today I was surfing the bay and saw this auction beaver auction
I almost fell off my chair!! I did a quick google on $3 Square beavers and saw that my little beavers have gotten quite popuar. One site when as high as $225 canadian!
Now I am tempted to break up the family.

I always liked those.

Firstly, I like all square coins. Add the quirky $3 denomination and they're even more appealing.

I think these are specimen and not proofs. I missed buying it as was procrastinating and when decided to buy was too late! I did not buy it later thinking the price would come down, but it never did. Someday I would break down and get one of these. :-)

Sometimes it makes sense to take the profit- surely there are a number of stock market players who wish they had done thus and so prior to the temporary collapse of yesterday.
