WOW!!! GRADE?? 1878 7TF Reverse of 1879 (Great Details Shown In Pictures)

Any guesses on this grade? I am thinking about submitting it to PCGS??

looks overdipped in the pics. Maybe its just the pic but I'd say BB, cleaned.

The luster doesn't look right, but assuming it's ok in hand, I'll say 63/64. Too many dings along the rim at 2:00-3:00 to keep it from going any higher.

The strike is REALLY nice on both obverse and reverse, and the reverse has a a good "look" to it. But, something about the obverse doesn't sit right, it just doesn't "wow" me in the pics. There are some hits in the fields on the right hand side which are distracting; would need better shots of the cheek to say more. Really nice closeups.

63---the big bump is at 64 and they wont give it to that one. Not good luster

The hits are not bad, but the coin is lifeless. Looks like it was over-dipped. Maybe it is the photos. Do you have a cartwheel luster when you tilt it? I also have a 61 and it has a simular look as yours.

There is a minor cartwheel luster when it is tilted. I'm not sure, but I purchased the coin for $38 so I wonder If I got a good deal?

I think you did fine for $38. I agree that it looks overdipped, though, and that the luster is a little flat. VAM 221, by the way.

One of the 78 Rev. of 79 varieties, but not one of the rare ones. This one's identifiable by the triangular shaped raised area at the front of Liberty's forehead.
