centering question

Is there some kind of tool I can use to accurately measure centering?

Also can anybody tell me what centering is on this card and maybe a guess at what it would cross to? It's a BVG 5, centering on the back is much better.

Thanks in advance!

  • Someone mentioned "jruler" awhile back and I Googled it.

A great tool. Measure by pixels, inches, metric.

  • 39/61 T to B

    75/25 L to R

Thanks for the help! I downloaded it, now I have to figure out how to use it. 25/75 means it could make an ugly 7 if they like the rest of the card, right?

  • Looks like it. Good luck. We have all certainly seen "uglier" 7s. Why the BVG 5? A wrinkle or ding perhaps? Corners don't look like a 5 in PSA standards.

The jruler is easy once you get the hang of it.

"A PSA NM 7 is a card with just a slight surface wear visible upon close inspection. There may be slight fraying on some corners. Picture focus may be slightly out-of-register. A minor printing blemish is acceptable. Slight wax staining is acceptable on the back of the card only. Most of the original gloss is retained. Centering must be approximately 70/30 to 75/25 or better on the front and 90/10 or better on the back."
  • What are the sub grades?

No sub grades - nothing on the label or at beckett.com, it's one of the newer slabs without subgrades. If it's as nice as the scan I'm happy no matter what grade it gets.
