  • 250 1 oz. silver rounds would've cost around $3700, but those would be .999 silver, not "junk silver".

If it is $250 of 90% silver coins you have overpaid.

If it is 250 OZ. of silver then you did good.

    Doesn't look good.

    30 morgans and 10 peace dollars---40 x $11 $440
    100 Franklins a $5 $500
    10 ounces of silver $140
    20 Silver eagles x $16 $320

$1400 plus 160 mexican silver coins?

    i think he/she meant to say 300 coins totaling 250oz...i mean..if this 300 + 250oz it would be great...hehe...

although i was expecting 300 coins totaling 250oz...

He offers a money back guarantee.

"I do promise your satisfaction and money back gaurantee, for that is the only way Aunt Carroll would sell these coin. "

Tell him you are not satisfied because after rereading the auction there is NO way there is 250 oz's in that lot.
So you would be unhappy and return them--Better for both to just cancel transaction and he can recoup his final value fees. He can relist it at no charge.

    Joe

    Edit:

    30 oz Morgans and peace
    20 oz in the eagles
    10 oz. in the bar
    35 oz. in the Franklins

total 95 oz plus the 160 Mexican coins

I know it is too late.
Next time come here first and ask before you bid.

As it is often mentioned here that there is no Numismatic Santa.

Fortunately he offers a money back guarantee and maybe you can get out of this.
Bids are a binding contract aren't they.

Maybe there is some really nice coins in the lot. image

  • Good Luck....

I figure you'll be lucky if it's only a small loss.....

It still might be better to try and cancel first..... save on the shipping fees....

If it is 250 oz. of silver, at $14.50 an ounce that is $3,625. I doubt the seller would sell it under melt value.

If it is 250 oz. of coins containing silver, the Mexican coins knock down the value, plus even 250 oz. of U. S. silver coins is a max of 225 oz. of silver, and possibly less if the lot has some 40% silver halves.

The idea of getting a list of what's in the lot before paying is a good one. The idea of walking away if you're not happy with what is in the lot is IMO also a good idea.

  • any time you buy something and are not sure what you are buying its a crap shoot........

I like to gamble on things that I have some control over the outcome.....that auction you are at the mercy of the seller......not a good gamble in my opinion.

I like your style!! You must be a bond or equity trader. You might consider future purchases of bullion via Canada or US exchanges.
