Is this the 'dump' part of the 'pump'?
  • I think the 64-pl grade is a little bit high.
  • sorry does nothing for me!

  • It looks a little ratty for a 64, with ho-hum color and a slight rim ding, too. I'm a little surprised at the grade and the star.

    Another thread?
  • Pretty color on that second one. I especially like the reverse.

Dizzy, did you ever send your Battle Creek coin to be imaged?

When I proposed so in this thread, you commented I've got some possibilities in mind.. so I was just wondering if you had had the chance yet..

With all due respect, I do not really personally know any of the sellers that I happily share the coins of. A couple of them I have dealt with minimally, and that's it. And if I want to create a new thread based on a cool coin that I find out there and want to share, I pretty much will always do so. I'm also fine with anyone else doing so when it comes to discovering and sharing nice coins. This board is so often flooded with so much crimage bickering, it's refreshing to see some nice coins posted, regardless of how often.

The first coin is a joke in the * holder. Shame on NGC for handing out 1200 stars to the BC hoard, that was about 600 too many.
The second coin pictured is much nicer, although also a complete joke at $5000 for an ms64.

Perhaps Dizzy did not, but I have had independant pictures taken of the BC coin I purchased from my collection. Here is the Superior auction picture, and a picture taken by Shane (aka kryptonitecomics). This coin looks exactly as imaged in hand.

Beautiful coin! Mine will be imaged soon by a respected fellow board member as soon as I get off my rump and ship it to him. He's by far one of the most top notch image takers on the forum, and I know he will do my Battle Creek treasure its' true justice in an image. To be continued...

image I don't think the coin deserved a star or an MS-64. But I guess that was part of the deal.

The 2nd coin in the thread is really not for sale. That coin belongs to Pharmer and he is showing it off to the world and using ebay to do it. Nothing wrong with that. If someone want to pay the super high price tag he would sell it at that price I assume. Lets not get hog wild over a subject we have discussed before. More power to Pharmer if you ask me!
