1986 Topps Football Wax Boxes from case .. For sale!

Hello
This is Kevin Roberson Ebay ID Elitecards with 425 positive feedbacks! I just got back from the SF sportscard show. I did find a rare offering... a MINT 1986 Topps football wax case ( Each of the 20 boxes Factory Wrapped from Topps). This case contains 20 Mint, Topps Factory sealed wax boxes Never opened or touched ! I spoke to Dave and Adams Card World(One of the Nations largest vintage wax dealers) and they confirmed these boxes did come this way from Topps for those of you who have never seen thse rare factory wrapped boxes. They also stated that they boxes command a premium price due to how RARE they are!! I will be keeping 10 of these for myself and selling the other 10 boxes over the next few weeks. These boxes each contain 36 fresh wax packs. These boxes sell on Ebay for between $375 and $475, however most of the boxes for sales on Ebay have been opened and are retail send backs with the big black X. As stated at the top of my message my boxes are case fresh.! 3 big dealers currently have 1986 football wax boxes listed at between $375 and $475,However none of them apear to be case fresh based upon the look of the boxes and none of the are factory wrapped!!! I thought I would offer these for sale to the PSA registery collectors before I list them to everyone else. I will be selling these at $399.99 a box. This is a steal for case fresh factory wax! If anyone wants to purchase these boxes please contact me at 1-916-419-0179 or email me at elitecards@hotmail.com. You can also respond to this message. I will accept Paypal and money orders for these boxes! Please see photo's to see that these are straight from the case fresh!

Why start a new thread selling these boxes when you already had one (which has since been re-titled "Wrapped or Not")?

Good point. Also, I doubt you'll find many takers at that price when you can buy a guaranteed unopened box from Steve Hart for less.

  • Hello

This is to all of the people who responded to my 86 football wax boxes in a negitve way! I have now confirmed that some(Les than %5) of 1986 Topps football case wax boxes did come factory wrapped in a thick cello wrap from Topps in some cases! Most do not have the wrap, but some do depending on where and who it was shipped too! This has been confirmed from 2 of the largest vintage wax dealers including Dave and Adams card World !!! They also stated that these rare cases and boxes command premium prices due to how rare they are!! In the future I would ask that if you have comment in regards to someones listing, you should contact them directly instead of messing up the posting with incorrect information. That is why I relisted the ad! Bottom like is... Please know your facts before you speak!
    No hard feelings... I hope!!
I have 7 boxes left for sale and I have reduced the price to $399.99 each with $10.00 shipping..

  • Why are there multiple threads for the same subject?

Fair enough, I stand corrected. You could have simply just answered with this info and I'm sure it wouldn't have hurt your sales. Starting the second thread and retitling the first made it seem like you were hiding something. I apologize if you feel I was out to scare away customers.

I was simply questioning the information you gave, then you set me straight. That's why these are forums instead of classified ads. I don't see how simply answering the question in the other thread would have discouraged customers. I have no hard feelings or regrets- I learned something new.

For what it's worth, those boxes look very clean and should yield nice cards. Have you busted any yet? I'd like to see some of the better cards raw. I've been selling '75 FB racks and I scanned some of the cards I pulled out of the one I opened. I think it helped my sales. Just a thought.

Anyway, I don't think you'll have any trouble selling the boxes with how clean they are.

  • Hello Lee

I did give in to temptation and opened 1 box. These are some of the key cards I got from the box. As you can see the centering is very good for 86 football and the cards are all very nice in regards to corners and edges. I am pretty sure the Elway and Payton will get PSA 10 grades and most of the the rest all have a good shot at PSA 9s depending on how tough they are on centering. Thanks for the advice on posting the scans.

Is there another Payton that I'm missing? Both of the Payton cards in your scan appear OC to me.

  • Yeah, that should probably sell some of the boxes for you. Nice centering, especially on the Young's which is a hard card to get in top grade. Hell, you might make out if you just bust the boxes, grade and sell.
