My first guess was incredibly close!!

Here's my math... assummed 10 coins per layer, 44 layers, 44x44 stacks on the first layer and going down by one ,

Probably not a California Project and very impressive! I don't know what impresses me more:
The amount of time taken to complete it?The amount of money ties up in it?The reasoning behind doing it in the first place?
Someone, somewhere out there in cyperspace is saying "I bet I could do that with a hunnert levels!"

I counted, 40 across to the right, 40 across to the left, and 40 up... to accomplish 289,000 there would have to be at least 14 per stack for a total of 309,960. The stacks look pretty even to me so who knows, maybe they didn't know or someone that was helping stack the cents was pocketing them as well... (I just thought that was a funny image in my head.... pockets full of cents, trying to walk out with them).

    Anywho, you gotta love excel.

I wonder how "They" would handle the situation if, "Someone" super glued all those cents together and then tried to turn them in...

It's not like putting a few bricks in the middle would make it any heavier, the cents would be the heaviest way to go.... Imagine the weight of that thing....

Alright, if my math serves me correctly, a cent is 2.500 grams (I'm probably wrong, I have no books with me and I just did a quick search on the web)

    454 grams = 1 lb

    221400 cents X 2.500 grams each= 553500 grams

    553500 grams / 454 grams = 1219.162 lbs

Is that right? A thousand lbs of cents?

How would one get that much home?

Anyway, someone prove me wrong and do the math correctly for me image
