PayPal Question ?

If someone pays me through PayPal, how long will it take for the fund to be deposited into my account ?

I've never received payment through PayPal before and I have no clue.

I thought it was an instant deal. Paypal is paying you and then they get their money from the buyers checking account. At least that I think it works. I know once I pay it takes about 4 days for the money to come from my account to paypal. I hope this helps some.

I just have a regular, non seller account. when i received funds, they were deposited into a "paypal account" and i had to have the funds transferred from this "paypal account" to my checking account.

But how do you transfer from Paypal Account to your checking account ? I thought your Paypal is linked to your checking and the transferring should be done automatically, shouldn't it ?

I understood the question to mean deposited into paypal account.

To have access to the money in checking account can take up to 4 days but usually2-3.
I have their debit card I use in stores which also is no charge.
A cash withdrawal incurs a $1 charge I believe.

It usually takes a couple of days at most to complete the transfer of funds from PayPal to your bank account. It takes 3-4 days for an echeck to process in either direction.

In your PayPal account you click on "Withdraw" and then the "Transfer funds to your bank account" link. It takes about 2 or 3 days and is free. If you do not take the funds out of your account PayPal will try to use any balance in your account first before charging your credit card or bank account. Personally, I find that annoying but that's just me.

To answer your secondary question, No, transferring funds out of your paypal account is not automatic. I think you have to initiate the transfers.

PayPal takes a nice percentage of your sale but if you had to get your own merchant account set up it could be worse...
